CPT Code 97605: Negative pressure wound therapy (e.g., vacuum-assisted drainage collection), including topical application(s), wound assessment, and instructions for ongoing care, per session; total wound(s) surface area less than or equal to 50 sq cm.
CPT Code 97606: Negative pressure wound therapy...total wound(s) surface area greater than 50 sq cm, as with the debridgement codes, the 50 sq cm refers to total wound area, not a single large wound. To ensure accurate coding, include the wound's measurements in the documentation—in metric measurements—so you can link it with the correct code.
